Well, the listing got taken down, but Wendy figured out that Zillow still had the pictures up. So here is the house that we plan to move into at the beginning of May. Of course we will decorate it differently and change a few things, but we are pretty pleased. We think it is an attractive house and we like that it is at the back of the half cul-de-sac. It is in Layton, UT.
We'll definitely be putting in a basketball hoop on this concrete pad and let the boys ride their bikes all over.
And this tree! What couldn't I say about it! It is beautiful and a perfect climbing tree.
Look at that storage shed!
This two car garage has so much potential! Eric is excited to have a work bench and a little gym. I think it would be awesome to someday get a chest freezer, and shoe bench and store things.
This is the front entrance. It is the only thing we really didn't like about the house. We really didn't want a split entry. But, since there is a garage, we will most likely be entering from there each time, so it won't be a problem. The platform has tile.
This is the downstairs bathroom. It is also the laundry room and has a big closet with the furnace and water heater.
The vanity for the sink is an antique dresser. Definitely adds some character.
Here is the downstairs TV room. It is a little smaller than we hoped for, but we still think it will totally do fine.
And this is the third bedroom. We plan to use it as an office/sewing room. And guest room.
The kitchen is actually cuter in real life, but I like the copper panels on the ceilings. There isn't a huge pantry space, but I think there will still be plenty of space, especially since there are several closets in the hall.
The color of this wall is not my favorite at all, so we will be changing that. We like all of the windows in this house. Look how there are two windows just in the dining room! So much light.
Eric is really excited to have bar stools to be able to eat at the counter.
Eric has always wanted double sinks.
And this is the bedroom that the boys will share.
We like that upgrades are already made throughout the house. The house is 1,467 square feet and I think it was on like .22 acres. The back yard is already fenced in, along with another dog area in the back corner. Although we definitely don't plan on getting a dog anytime soon. It is about 2 miles from the train station, so Eric will ride the bus and the train to work. Even with the extra distance he will only be gone about a half hour longer than he is gone now. The train commute is nice and quick. We are happy that there are already fans in every room. It doesn't have central air, only a swamp cooler. So hopefully the fans will help us to survive a hot summer until eventually we can put in central air.
Also, don't forget to check out the post that I did right before this about Teddy's 4 month birthday and some cute Oliver pics.
