Visiting Wendy Before the Baby and the Rest

Well, we decided to move to Tennessee. We gave away just about everything except for the few things that would fit in our two cars and a few boxes in storage. We hopped in the car and drove to Tennessee. Which, by the way, how come Tennessee isn't spelled out by elementary school kids all the time like Mississippi? They both have a ton of letters? And crooked ones too. Well, on the drive we just drove straight through. Turns out the google map time estimate for driving across the country is way wrong when you are driving with a baby and have to take lots of breaks. Oliver did super duper. We each drove a car and Oliver was in Eric's car. The first day we drove from 5:30 am-11:30 pm. We stopped at a rest stop and pulled out our blankets and slept on the ground and hope that we wouldn't get in trouble. There weren't any signs about no camping like there were at other stops and we were in Nebraska. It was a pretty uncomfortable sleep until 4:30 when we started up again and drove til 5 pm the next day when we made it to Memphis.

When we got to Memphis, it turned out that our hotel was in a really scary part of town. We went to the grocery store to grab some food and were scared to get out of the car. So after some more thoughts and prayers, we decided to go to FL. We still gave Memphis a chance and looked for housing. Turned out the other side of town was much better and had the smallest Temple that I have ever seen, but it still just wasn't the right fit.

On our way to FL, we went to Baton Rouge to visit Wendy, Daniel, Lucy, and Reuben. We ate some delicious food and saw some cool buildings. It was fun to hang out.

I made Wendy do lots of pregnancy poses for me.

When we got to FL, we stayed at Sage's for a week until we could get our own place. Stephen was actually sleeping like this for the night. Pretty impressive.

And the day that we got here, Monty decided to run through the fence. Since Mom was in Minnesota, I became dad's assistant to fix him up. You saw the earlier post with his healing legs, but this is what he looked like at first. All of the silver on him are places where he had pretty good cuts. Now, all but three are healed and we have to wrap all of them. The vet said that after this week though they might be able to stop wrapping and just spray all of them. Yippee! Mom is back now too, so I'm off the hook.

Dad was pretty impressive with his diligence. It was really gross work and he said "ick" a lot. Oliver came out with us most of the time too. He was such a good baby. P.S. It took him about two weeks before he could handle going in the car again. He did not like the last 12 hour drive and I don't blame him. He was perfect for the first 30 hours. But he is sweet and happy in the car again and doesn't mind short drives.

Oliver likes picking Monty's nose.

Oliver ADORES his mini bottle. Sadly, the lid is breaking so I think it is no more unless I can find another somewhere.
And again, I'm not sure what these videos are, but I'm sure they are cute. Oliver is pro at going up the stairs. Since this video he can now make it up them in about 10 seconds flat.
