Halloween 2014

We had ourselves some Calvin and Hobbes this year for Halloween. They looked pretty adorable together.

It may not be that exciting of a costume, but I was pretty proud of the fact that I thought of it all myself, without Eric's help.

 The model version of Hobbes.

 Who is this kid???

What the what? Look at that loot!
And still no new baby. Looks like I'll get my November baby after all.

38 Weeks and a mini Apartment Tour

This week I have now finished 38 weeks of being pregnant for the second time. I had an ultrasound on Friday so that they could make sure he was head down (which he is). They even gave me a DVD of the ultrasound so that was pretty awesome. And they took a 3D picture. I'm sure his face is a little smashed and you obviously still can't see all of his features, but it is still pretty cool to get a little preview of what he is going to look like.

Here is a cleaned up living room version picture.

Also, I thought that some of you may want to see what our apartment looks like. Here is our messy fridge (thanks to Oliver's birthday) and kitchen. Nice big pantry to the left of the fridge. And it is really nice to have the microwave off of the counter.

And this is the living room. We sold our old TV when we left FL and got a new one and we love it so far. The picture on the wall was painted by Eric's grandma Melba. It reminds me of some of the paintings that we grew up with that my dad painted. Our apartment has a no nails policy, so I'm trying to figure out these command strips things- but they are so expensive that I think the process of putting pictures on the wall will take a while.

We are adjusting slowly to not having any carpeted floors. I'm pretty sure Eric will revolt if I ever lobby for hard floors throughout the house. I definitely like carpet in the bedrooms.

Special thanks to Derek and Aynna for the use of the piano, Cara for the carpet and finding the couch, Becky for the pillows and TV stand. We've really gotten hooked up as far as furniture goes. Now I just need to figure out how to make it not look cluttered by the door where our shoes and bags are...

37 Weeks Pregnant

I'm now 37 weeks pregnant. I'm definitely as big as I was when I was 40 weeks with Oliver, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is a big baby!

Things we like about living in Bountiful, UT. There are lots of things we like, but these are just a few.

  • We can see the Bountiful temple all through our neighborhood. It just sits on the hill about 8 minutes away.
  • The park is less than a block away and we go there often.
  • Stores are so close to our house. And that includes basically every kind of store you can think of.
  • Golds gym is across the street. Eric is bulking up! Well, as much as he can.
  • The library is only .5 miles away.
  • The frontrunner train is only 1.5 miles away so Eric just rides his bike there and has a short 15 minute commute to work. And the company pays for his train pass.
  • We are only 18 minutes from Eric's parents house and we go very often.
  • We are close to the interstate.
  • We are only a 15 minute drive to downtown Salt Lake City. Last Sunday we went to Temple Square for a fun Sunday morning activity.
  • People are nice here. Everyone genuinely seems concerned for our welfare and are very sincere feeling.

Some that never made it into a blog

Oliver loves umbrellas. On this particular day he enjoyed posing with the flowery umbrella.

For a few days he was sort of interested in ditching his diaper so we got him a Thomas seat for the toilet. He had a blast sitting on it twice and then three months later thought it would be fun to give it another try. Still not close to potty training, but he looks cute sitting on it.

Back when he was obsessed with daddy's "sharp shoes".
He really likes to help cook. He helped me make cupcakes on the day that we found out that Teddy is a boy.

This day he wanted to be like his dad, so he put on some boxers and a shoe and strutted around the house.

These next few pictures show the camouflaging ability of crabs. Each of these crab pictures is different, but each one is just as difficult to find on the sand.

Quilts

I've been attempting to make some sort of blanket/quilt for each new baby niece or nephew as of late. Oliver loves when I do and tests them out before I send them off.
This post is more of for my own record.

This one was for Savannah Thompson baby #5

This is the one that I made for baby Ruth (the first one ever).

Baby Bode got this one. Oliver was head over heels for this blanket.

 Baby Evelyn got his one.
