From the little camera

Well, since  it is much easier to get the photos off the phone, I've only done posts with my phone pictures lately. But I had reason to get photos off the little camera so here are some new pics from different events over the last month or so.

First we have playgroup. Our ward did a little preschool playgroup every Thursday until two weeks ago. I'm not going to lie, I kinda miss it. It was nice to get to go hang out with the other moms and for Oliver to practice playing with other kids. I also think it helped him to enjoy nursery a little more. The second to last activity included tracing Oliver and taking some of his stats. He was really good at laying still while I traced half of his body and I did the coloring in since Oliver wasn't interested. He was pretty proud of his poster when we got home and gladly posed for these photos.

 The next event was the extremely long graduation of my oldest niece, Aurelia. Yep. She is 18 and soon will be off to college (which I think she thinks can't come soon enough).

 I try to actually do some of the things that I pin on Pinterest. This activity was playing with shaving cream. I got some at the Dollar Tree and Oliver definitely loves it. Although he does smell strongly of shaving cream afterwards. It was perfect to do it out at the farm in the water table for easy clean-up.

 Grandpa has been busy mowing almost constantly to try to keep the grass at bay.

 That same day Oliver discovered taking pictures and liked to pose for them, so here are a few of those.

I have been wanting to go blueberry picking for a while now and we finally made it out. Turned out that the day that we went was SUPER hot as you can tell by Oliver's red cheeks. We (Oliver, me, my mom, and dad) went again about a week later and it was perfect overcast breezy cool weather. Plus I thought to bring a stroller so I didn't have to hold Oliver after two minutes. It was a much more successful picking that time. Turns out that Oliver prefers blackberries to blueberries although he likes them both. Luckily, blackberries are everywhere right now so we have had a constant supply just by going outside.

 This one I couldn't get Oliver to hold still, but it is just documenting the first time he put on his shoe by himself. He has done it several times since and only about 30% of the time puts the shoe on the wrong foot. Pretty proud of him :).

No Fear of Water

This last week Oliver lost any fear of water that he might of had. Now instead of sticking to one spot in the pool, he just walks in or goes over the edge and expects us to be there to catch him. It's a little scary. Yesterday he wanted to put on these water wings and he wore them for quite a long time while he played with toys and the lights. And I made sure to snap a few shots.

I love when he makes this face while sleeping.

We got some cleats for Eric and Oliver calls them sharp shoes.

I think Oliver's no fear of water came from us finally figuring out when low tide is at the beach. Turns out that the tide counter is backwards for Flagler beach. When it says that it is high tide, it is actually low tide! We have hit the beach twice since figuring it out and found that Flagler beach is totally transformed. Tide pools and shallow water for a really long time. Plus, when you are out on the low tide, the sand is fine and that means we come home shell free. It's awesome.

Twiggy the waterskiing squirrel

Today was the Bunnell potato festival. The highlight was that we got to see the famous Twiggy the water skiing squirrel. It was pretty cute. This one was Twiggy the 7th. The first Twiggy started in the 70's.
Oliver also got his first face paint ever and was great at holding still while she painted a football and goal post.
We then watched the parade. We got probably a bucket full of candy and the parade lasted about 15 minutes. The perfect parade.

And it looks like the pictures are on here backwards so reverse everything I said.

Limited vocabulary

Well, try as I may, I cannot get pictures on my phone of this kid smiling. And as much as hate blurry pictures, these are the best I got. Oh well. These will have to do for now.

So Oliver has a very large vocabulary. He can say probably over 50 words and is saying new words every day. Starting last week, no has become the response for everything. Do you want food? No. Are you happy? No. Do you like basketball? No. So, we just have to read his expressions. Since Easter he has added a new word. Egg. Everything is egg. All he wants are eggs. He wakes up every morning and after each nap saying egg. He won't eat his meals unless he can either see or hold a plastic egg. As you can see in this picture, he likes to take his basketball Easter basket everywhere and play with his eggs.

We have our camping chairs in our kitchen and Oliver loves to put the eggs in the cup holders and plays for literally hours right here.

As for ketchup, it is probably one of Oliver's favorite things. He likes to dip his face in it to get the full on flavor.

Today we hit up the new splash pad in Ormond Beach. Turns out Oliver loves splash pads.

Cotton Candy

Last Friday we went to the fair. We decided to splurge and do a few things that cost money, specifically the carousel and buying some cotton Candy. Oliver wasn't so sure about the ride at first since he just had to sit still while they waited for it to fill up, but one it started he loved it. He was all smiles the whole time.

As for the cotton Candy, I think he is in love. He loves all sugar treats and asks for candy quite often. We still have a lot out leftover cotton Candy and when he remembers that it is on the counter he begs and begs for it and somehow figures out how to get it off of the counter.
